Why should we buy Religious Art?
It’s interesting to see how the lives of Jesus Christ, Joseph, Mother Mary, and the other saints have inspired artists down through time. For centuries artists have admired religious art…to visualize God the Father and Jesus his son …. where Jesus entire life is characterized as it flourished in one form of art or another. Especially when looking at a religious painting we begin to feel the presence that the artist describes the meaning behind each masterpiece.
It amazing when you go into a church or even into a museum to see how artists thought and then painted what they considered the most important events in Jesus life.
Religious art is more then what we see in pictures, paintings, prints, prayer cards, reproductions, books, cinema and other media. In fact some of the greatest paintings ever made all had a Christian theme.
Not only was religious art being most dominant art form from the early Renaissance, work that when on through 17th and 18th Centuries from Christian artists to Catholic paintings. Of course, if you happen to have one in your possession today from that time frame, chances are it would be worth a small fortune today.
An example today would be the Sistine Chapel by Michael Angelo in the Vatican City, Rome, Italy
Today artist are just as persistence. They strive to recreate original art and yes, they borrow from the old Master themselves.
